BIOGRAFIA
A multifaceted Roman artist, fashion and body designer. Thrown into the dull contemporary world, disassociated from monotony and banal normality, Luca Cristofori not only directs numerous national and international artistic events but also loves to create anything that has volume. From enormous scenographies for parade floats, trade show stands, and RAI events to sculptural garments made from any imaginable material, Luca constantly experiments with himself and the materials around him. His fascination with plastics has driven him to explore and alter their forms, dimensions, and colors. Since 2009, his focus has been on lycra, a fabric he decontextualizes and experiments with across multiple fields. Notable among his works are installations on historical buildings using lycra, where he explores the fabric’s self-supporting tension when stretched. In 2012 and 2013, Luca won the prestigious Premio Phersu from the Province of Viterbo, awarded to scenographers and float designers excelling in creating scenographies and spectacles for Italy’s historical carnivals. In 2016, he was chosen by ANBIMA as the Italian National Team’s flag bearer for the MWF World Championships, marking the first time in history that a sports team was represented by a Made in Italy artisan instead of an athlete.
Luca designs innovative uniforms and graphics for many companies, enhancing their employees’ appearance. In 2017, he opened a new workshop dedicated entirely to producing parade uniforms for marching bands and majorette groups. In 2018, the Lazio Region recognized Luca as a local excellence, featuring him in Lazio Creativo 2018, an exclusive publication that annually highlights the top 100 creative talents under 35 from the region. All of this is achieved through a fusion of engineering, architecture, fashion, scenography, music, dance, painting, and sculpture—arts and disciplines that Luca has always loved and seamlessly integrates into every creative work.
